This week in Style Objectified we have Colin T. McDonald – an emerging stylist based out of New York, who is quickly growing into one of the industries go-to people when it comes to all of your fashion or style emergencies.  Along with being a stylist, he commentates daily for some of the most respected and notable critics today.  Still finding time, he also consults for top and emerging brands as a brand ambassador lending them his eye and expertise.  For more information on Colin, possible appearances or collaboration, please visit his website at  Also follow him on Twitter at Styleexpert00.

 1.       Who is your personal style inspiration?
I love me some Tom Ford!!!  There is just something very simple, sexy and chic about his style that makes you feel exclusive.  His whole aesthetic is a mood of wanting to feel seductive, powerful and yet be noticed when you walk into a room-That’s me!

2.       Who is your favorite designer?
There are so many! Right now, I’m obsessed with Christopher Bailey and what he’s done with Burberry.  There’s something very cool that he’s brought to the line and I’m always trying to recreate his runway looks for my everyday looks.  I also love and have to support the next reign of powerhouses like Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Christian Cota, Rolando Santana  and Chris Benz.  All amazing artists!  It’s like cheese or wine, there collections just keep getting better with age.
For Jewelry, I love working with Patricia Brown!  She’s studied along Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs and carries the same aesthetic when it comes to design.  She is continuing to gain exposure and has several trunk shows coming up at famous New York hot spots like Henri Bendel’s and possibly Bloomingdale’s over the upcoming holiday season.

3.       What is your style philosophy?
I have two!  Don’t be afraid to embrace color and over indulge when it comes to accessories.

4.       What trend are you excited about, what trend would you like to come back and what trend do you wish would go away?

I love that were seeing lots of bold color on the runways season after season.  I especially love that we’re seeing neon’s for Spring 2012!  I want to continue to see studded jackets, accessories, etc.  There’s something very cool about mixing those pieces with your classic or basic pieces.  I’m not into the whole prairie style that we’re seeing this season.  I hope it’s just a fade and fizzles out.
Lastly-for the ladies, when it comes to beauty I love that the new lipstick is nail polish.  Women aren’t just adorning there nails with the basic colors anymore, they’re buying in bulk in just about every shade.  A great product that every woman should own and my go-to for all my clients is Couture Gel Nail Polish.  It’s the first of its kind and last for weeks!  No more chips and A MUST-HAVE!

 5.       What is your biggest fashion faux pas?
Over doing it or Roadkill in my opinion!  You don’t need to indulge into every trend that’s in season.  Pick the ones that work best for your personal style and body.

6.       Who  are YOU wearing today…
In this picture that was taken of me in the streets of Chelsea here in New York while running to appointments, I had on Tom Ford eyewear, pants and shoes by Calvin Klein bought online at, Tie and Cardigan are vintage Christian Dior, button-down bought at Club Monaco, and watch bought at Kenneth Cole.

7.       Who would win in a Style Off between Alexa Chung vs. Zooey Deschanel & why?
Decided by knockout-Alexa Chung!
