Style Objectified: Sara Zucker

Sara ZuckerThis week in Style Objectified we are featuring Sara Zucker, Glamor Magazine’s online community manager.  Sara is one special lady with an unusual, eclectic style all her own and we LOVE reading her truly honest yet sometimes brutal take on all things fashion. We met Sara at WWD MAGIC back in August and have been a huge fan ever since! Be sure to follow Sara’s blog – SaraZucker.com and on twitter @sbz.

1.  Who is your personal style inspiration?
Courtney Love, Little House on the Prairie, and Bob Dylan.

2.  Who is your favorite designer?
Tracy Reese, Club Monaco, and Tom Binns

3.  What is your style philosophy?
Wear what feels good, looks appropriate for the occasion, and makes you feel pretty.

4.  What trend are you excited about, what trend would you like to come back and what trend do you wish would go away?
Excited: neon
Please come back: high-waisted wide leg trousers
Please go away, I never want to see you again ever:  kitten heels

5.  What was your biggest fashion faux pas?

Not embracing my curves. Do I really expect dolman sleeves and muumuus to flatter an hourglass figure? I’ve come to grips with the fact that I will never be boyish, so instead, I am working on showing off what my mama gave me.

6.  What are YOU are wearing today…

Today, I attended an arts-and-crafts holiday party at FEED Projects. Now that cold weather has arrived, you can clearly tell that I’ve gotten overexcited about layering again. I’ve been looking forward to this time of year for months. Currently wearing: 3 layers (1 wool, 1 cashmere, 1 cotton-poly blend)

7.  Who would win in a Style Off between Miranda Kerr vs. Rosie Huntington Whiteley

MK has mastered the art of “casual-cool.” It is a genre of dressing that I myself have struggled to excel at but end up looking like a homeless person. Damn her and her long legs.
